AlumnIUT-Lyon1 (Former Students of IUT Lyon1) is an association governed by the law of 1901. It was created on June 24, 1943 under the name of "Société des Anciens Elèves de l'Ecole de la Métallurgie". It has changed its name many times during its 80 years of existence to become AlumnIUt-Lyon1 on November 11, 2024.

Owner since May 21, 1960, it manages the Jean GALLET chalet located in the hamlet of Lauzet in the town of Monêtier Les Bains (05).

Today, the association is led by an office of 13 former students. The office meets every first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the premises of the IUT. All alumni can take part in these meetings which punctuate the life of the association.

Every year, the AlumnIUT-Lyon1 holds its general assembly on November 11 in the school premises, now IUT of "Villeurbanne Gratte-Ciel" located at 17 rue de France. This date has not changed since the association was founded. It is a landmark for all alumni who meet for a friendly meal after the traditional minute of silence and after singing the school song.

The Jean Gallet du Lauzet chalet is maintained by the association's volunteers who meet in the spring and fall for two weekends of maintenance work. You will find more information about our chalet on the ARF website by clicking HERE.
