The route is quite simple
From Paris, you have to go through Lyon, but take the A46 (Eastern bypass of LYON) then continue towards GRENOBLE –CHAMBERY by the A43. Finally the A46 towards GRENOBLE.
In GRENOBLE, don't panic!!! It's always straight ahead towards SISTERON. At the height of the "COMBOIRE" shopping center, start looking towards BRIANCON. You will exit by a fast lane towards the Vallée de la Chimie. unmissable especially by the smell.
You will pass small towns like GAVET and LIVET. For movie buffs, these two towns are famous for the film "the Crimson Rivers" which served as a natural setting.
You will go towards the BOURG d'OISANS and always straight ahead you will take the direction of BRIANCON, via LA GRAVE.
Take the time to look at the wonderful landscape of the Glacier de la MEIJE at 3989 meters, it's fabulous, especially since every year, it is a little smaller because of global warming.
Always straight ahead you pass the LAUTARET pass at 2058 meters then you will go down to LE LAUZET, the first village on your right.
I summarize from Paris: LYON by the A46 then A43 and finally A48 to GRENOBLE, straight ahead towards SISTERON, exit towards BRIANCON, towards VIZILLE, the GAVET-LIVET Valley, the BOURG D'OISANS, finally, LA GRAVE, the LAUTARET pass and you are there, the chalet is in sight...
HAVE A GOOD TRIP.
For the people of Lyon you can follow the same route from LYON. Approximate time from LYON 2 h 30 mm with clear road but sometimes winter can play tricks and you will take more than 4 h if the LAUTARET pass is closed, it is rare but it has already happened… and in this case, you will have to go through the Bayard pass and Gap before arriving at Briançon and going up the Guisane valley to Lauzet
